Foldable water carrier (bag)
This is one of very
convenient item for overnight hiking.
Since water treatment might take longer time and it is better to get it
done once. Especially, leaving early
time something like before sunrise, it is really convenient. We do not have to take water before we start
hiking in a dark. I usually carry 3 litters hydration pack
instead of a water bottle. But it is
not enough for cooking dinner, breakfast and water during hiking on the next
day. The extra water can be filled into
a small cooker which is probably another 1 letter. To cover all required water during camping
and hiking, I also carry a foldable water bag for temporary water reservoir. What I have now is 4 litters capacity and it
is plenty for each day. I just need to
fill the hydration pack and the foldable water carrier (bag). It is probably good for 2 to 3 people. If it is for just a person, then we might be
able to find a smaller one.
The current one is
from MSR. It is a bit expensive,
however, it is a better quality comparing with just plastic one. I had a few plastic one, but they got broken
after a couple overnight hiking. It is
easy to break where the folding points are.
One it is empty, we
can fold it and it won’t take much space in the backpack. It is worth to carry it.
