Food for Hiking ~ Freeze dry food, Ramen Noodle and energy GEL!!

What do you eat during hiking?

Hikers needs to store food and garbage in a bear canister in man areas.
Food people prepare for hiking is very limited.
What do you usually carry for hiking? 

Breakfast and Dinner

Freeze dry food

A popular food is freeze dry food!  Just put some hot-water into the package and we could eat it from the package.  The garbage is really minimum and easy to cook.  I think it would be a solution.
There are various type of menu from some vendors.  The following is one of them.

However, if it is a few nights, I prefer to have something different.  For me, the freeze dry food sometimes is too much and I prefer some light food, especially in the morning.

Ramen Noodle Soup

One of good one I recommend is a noodle!!  The product is from Japan and you can buy it from Amazon.  It is also easy to pack into your bear canister as well.

This ramen noodle with soup is good in the morning.  I think many people feel thirsty right after getting up in camping.  This warm noodle with soup would be a very good solution!!  You may want to try it.  Probably, you may want to try before your hiking!

Food during walking

When your are in a trail, many people typically eat light snacks instead of real meal.  Some time it could be candies, chocolate and etc.
Since I also do marathon and during a race, many runners eat Energy Gel like "GU".
I think it would be a good snack for hiking as well.

Each package is very small and it is very easy put some in your pocket and easy to eat even if you are walking.   During marathon race, many runners eat it when they are running.
